Keen to raise a lot of cash for the nominated ChildLine charity and to involve as many of our members as possible, the South West Section decided this year to have two Drive it Day runs. One began in the far South West of our region starting at the Penhale cafe at Dobwalls near Liskeard. Our second run was in South Somerset, it started and ended at the beautiful home of one of our local members, at Buckland St Mary. The day raised £305 for ChildLine.

The mid south east section joined forces with the Jensen Owner Club and had a leisurely drive to Borde Hill Gardens, just out side Haywards Heath, on a sunny, chilly Drive It Day Sunday.

South East section had its AGM at the Heritage Skills Academy workshop based in Brooklands on the 7th April. It turned out to be a lovely day with a few of us turning up in our Alvises.

The East Anglia Section held its AGM on Sunday 7th April on a glorious sunny day with a turn out of 5 prewar and 2 post war cars.

National ‘Drive it Day’/‘Ride it Day’ is the annual opportunity to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping heritage on UK roads. Fundraising is an integrated part of ‘Drive it Day’, in which our movement comes together to contribute to a section of society that needs huge help and support – vulnerable children.

It was a lovely winter’s day for a gentle run through the Suffolk countryside and our first lunch of the year, if a little on the chilly side!

The Heritage Skills Academy host a range of short courses from basic maintenance to classic restoration at their facility at Bicester.

The Hong Kong Classic Car Club was invited by the Macau Grand Prix organisers to display their cars during the GP weekend.
