A few South West members decided to Join Jim Oakman and Members from The Midland & South East Section at the Kop Hill Climb at the weekend - what a grand couple of days we had, constant sunshine and hundreds of beautiful old motor cars.

South East Alvis Day at Michelham Priory -Monday, September 12, 2022

The south east section held their SEAD at Michelham Priory, near Hailsham, West Sussex on Saturday10th September. It was decided after the very sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the Friday, to continue with the event. Especially as the Duke of Edinburgh had an Alvis. The weather held and the turn out of Southern members from East and West was excellent.

There is a clear need to engage a new generation, to encourage them to take up careers in the historic vehicle industry and to enjoy historic cars. With the way historic and classic vehicle prices have risen in the last 10 years it has become harder and harder for young people to become involved.

On Saturday 16th July a number of AOC members gathered Prescott Speed Hill Climb, the home of the Bugatti Owners Club, for Pre-War Prescott. This annual event is always well supported by the AOC and 2022 was no exception with Alvis cars now having their own, dedicated section.

South West Alvis Day was on the Sunday and was held at Athelhampton House and Gardens. The building is Tudor and said to be the most haunted house in the UK with sightings of the ghost of the grey lady. We did see a Grey Lady but this was the Alvis TC/100 of Duncan Smith!

We (Tree-V) wanted to share some exciting news! Despite only launching just over six months ago we're very proud to announce that the FBHVC's carbon capture initiative has already carbon balanced 1,249,017 miles! Between us we have carbon captured 563 tonnes of carbon dioxide and planted over 1500 trees.
