It would be so helpful to have one, or just copies of one, but  so far I could not even find out if something like this exists or where to get one. Can anyone help?  Best Regards Jan Eichhorn Posted by JPE 16/07/2014 20:43:44

Jan,  Unfortunately Alvis did not produce  workshop manuals. However there is a lot of material available that when compiled do come close to one, albeit in a rather disjointed format. I would suggest that you contact the TD model secretary, Jonathon Huggett. His details can be found on page 5 of the March -April edition of The Bulletin.  Regards, Richard Posted by RichardWallach 17/07/2014 11:37:40

Jan,  see also the replies to the posting for TF ,5 items earlier in this section. In addition try to get hold of the "Motor Trader" Service Data sheets No 343 from 25/05/1960 which give a lot of useful info..Whilst this document is specific to the TD21  quite a bit of it is common to later cars.  Good Luck Posted by Peter Martin 17/07/2014 13:28:24

Thank you so much Richard and Peter! I just successfully bought the data sheet on ebay. In case you are interested, there'll be a story on the  car (335 YUM) in the next Bulletin. Regards Jan Posted by JPE 21/07/2014 10:59:45

There is a TD21 S1 parts book on ebay just now, that is very useful (essential really) for the exploded view drawings and part numbering. It ends tomorrow.  The TD21 S1 owners manual is also available as a new reprint on ebay, not cheap at approx. GBP 24-00, but good quality and extremely useful with important data like wiring diagram, brake-servicing, timing, valve clearances, carb-settings etc.  Also very useful for all 3 litre owners is the collection of works issued technical documents compiled by Nick Simpson, available from AOC.  Hope this helps, Giles Lacey Posted by lacey giles 07/08/2014 11:29:16

Besides Alvis specific material, keep an eye out on ebay for the Lucas Equipment and Spare Parts Manual for your year. The publication covers all vehicles. I have the 1951-2 edition and it covers all Lucas equipment (which is substantial) for my TA21. It also serves as a good cross reference in order to see which other manufactures are using the identical part. Posted by RichardWallach 07/08/2014 12:57:16
