The exhaust manifold on my 1935 Silver Eagle saloon is cracked. I'm new to AOC so just finding my way around. Am I likely to find a secondhand manifold and if so where? Thank you. Mike Duff. Posted by mikeduff 31/10/2017 17:01:12

Greetings Mike and welcome. There are members all around the world and the bulletin board is a good place to start. You may also like to consider placing an advertisement in the Pinkun - the Club Calendar as the back section has service providers and parts wanted/for sale. Red Triangle is also a good source for parts and a check can be done through their website. With respect to your manifold can you have it welded? All the best. Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 01/11/2017 04:15:28

Believe in the past several AOC members have had success with custom manifolds from: http://www.jpexhausts.co.uk/index.asp Good luck! Posted by johnlayzell 01/11/2017 07:54:27

Mike The exhaust manifold on my Sp20 SC had multiple cracks a few years ago - It was repaired by Dave Baker at Technilock in Swadlincote Derbys - http://www.cast-iron-repair.com - Since then the car has done 17,000 from the North of Norway all the way down to the Med including multiple Alpine, Picos and Pyrenean passes over 2,500 meters and regular 70mph+ blasts up and down the M1 with no recurrence of the crack. The repairs were a mixture of welding and stitching. Dave's quality is excellent - he does work for P&A Wood and a few of the European specialists. However he is a one man band and organisation isn't his forte - He's done 2 other jobs for me as well - one great, one where he messed me around for months and I ended up pulling the work because he was swamped and wouldn't face up to it- overall score 2 great, 1 poor. Be prepared to listen to his life story though! There are a few other metal stitchers and cast iron welders in the area (S Derbyshire/ NW Leics) who all learnt their trade at British Steel and the specialist foundry's that used to be here and have set up on their own - however I haven't used any of the others so no comment on quality or attitude. Good luck Shaun Posted by shaun matthews 23/11/2017 09:00:47
