It would seem I need to change my TF21 to negative earth for radio reasons. Is there anything relating to the TF which I need to know apart from the normal changeover routine Posted by TE McK 07/06/2012 18:26:54

Re the polarity change, you may need to consider whether the clock has to be rewired. If the clock is not working and you are considering an electronic module to regulate the "tick" then a negative earth configuration is the most practicable. Posted by RichardWallach 09/06/2012 00:46:01

thanks Richard, I was considering as the clock is held in the wooden dash I could swap the feed wire to earth (-) and cover the body of the clock at the back with a cut down plastic bottle as it will then be live!Does this sound like a fire risk Posted by TE McK 10/06/2012 19:30:30

Dear TE McK,  Re polarity change, I did this , with some professional help, in 2009. My car is a 1961 TD 21 saloon, and the clock had never worked during my ownership. I found out that -- AUTOFLUX  , HIGHER DERRICOMBE, TWO WATERS FOOT,LISKEARD, CORNWALL, PL14 6HS, TEL/FAX 01579 320459  offered a service to convert my original existing clock to negative earth. I realise that aTF21 is different, but if you are unable to find a replacement they may be able to help you. I have no interest other than as a satisfied customer.  Hope things tick along nicely !!  Arthur Heywood. 10508SW. Posted by Arthur Heywood 14/06/2012 17:03:34
