New Member seeks TD or TE 21

Hello,  I'm a new member who's just started looking for a TD Series 2 or TE21.  I probably can't afford a TF having looked at the one recently auctioned by ACA.  I notice that there's a TE21 for sale at Ashridge Automobiles in Leighton Buzzard (KMM 813) and a series 2 TD at Fisher Restorations (8192 RW) which, I believe used to belong to a club member.  Does anyone know or has anyone had a look at either of these cars?  In an ideal world I'm looking for a useable TE21 auto with power steering.  I'm not into concours but I would like something in good condition and ready for immediate use.  Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.  Tim (North Essex) Posted by timeveritt 08/12/2017 11:35:04

8192 RW still belongs to an AOC member, Fisher are selling it on commission. So I suggest you call the member (look it up in the AOC online car database). I know it quite well, it was the promotional car when the TS Series II was launched - see "The Motor" etc from 1962. It's a good solid car all very original, probably needs a bit of fettling to the upholstery and a good polish, but it runs very well. It's an automatic, which in my opinion suits the car well.  Series II TDs are rarer than Series 1s or TEs, and retain the elegant line of the front wing, which the introduction of stacked lights on the TE and TF rather lost.
