making fuel lines

When making new fuel pipes up (for my TC21) which is the best type of solder to use? Is it OK to use plumbers solder or electrical solder or should joints be brazed or silver soldered? I have visions of the joints opening with disastrous consequences! Posted by drdowhitt 03/09/2014 22:26:28

Make sure you use proper thin-walled fuel line and not just copper pipe.  I've recently made up new connections for my carbs using 'normal' plumbers solder.....so far so good, but I am watching it like a hawk. Posted by Angus D'Arcy-Drake 04/09/2014 08:31:05

I made up a new line for my TA21 from the pump to the Solex using thick walled copper tube, 5/16ths if my memory serves me correctly. In order to secure the banjo fitting I used silver solder (hard solder) as it is much stronger than ordinary solder(soft solder  - tin/lead). I have had no issues with it at all.
