Modern Fuel Octane Rating

What do people recommend as the best petrol to use in a post war car - specifically a TE21. The handbook for the car tells me to use 100 Octane, but currently I'm on a standard 95 rating. Should I go for the Tesco 99 for example? What have other people used and what have been the results? Thanks, Mike Posted by Mikee 14/05/2013 22:47:28

I run on 'standard' 95 octane with a drop of Reddex and/or Millers VSP and all seems well. Posted by Angus D'Arcy-Drake 15/05/2013 08:03:15

I use the new Shell V Power Nitro + and I add Castrol Valvemaster Plus. Works great! Posted by Philip 16/05/2013 12:54:01

Shell V-power with Millers VSP (now the later version). Burns cleanly and pulls well with no pinking in a TE21 spec. engine. Tried other brands of which only Total Excellium was really comparable. Others don't perform nearly as well. Posted by lacey giles 12/10/2013 13:35:52
