Water pump pverhaul

I've removed my water pump from the car (1964 TE21) as it was leaking. I'm not sure wether the leak was from the gasket between pump and engine or whether it was from the pump itself.   How hard is it to overhaul the pump myself? It's not obvious how it all comes apart.  Cheers, Mike Posted by Mikee 28/10/2012 20:32:28

Mike, I'm about to do this job myself but haven't started so can't answer your query, however, once it is rebuilt have the impellor and shaft cross-drilled and pinned to prevent the impellor working its way off the shaft, which happens as the bearing wears. Thanks, Angus  I've just convinced myself that it's a bit above me, and the parts cost about half as much as a reconditioned unit on part exchange ... so I'm going for the recon. I'd still be very interested to hear how you get on though. Posted by Mikee 07/11/2012 22:10:13
