BMC Overdrive gearbox

I bought this gearbox from a reputable source with the intention of fitting it to my non overdrive TD21 but in the event sold the car before I got around to it. I haven't opened it up but it seems to be in good condition, the solenoid works when connected to power and it is complete with the bellhousing. With aftermarket overdrives being very popular these days this unit will give the same performance improvement and keep the car to original specification. I am open to offers and will throw in the delivery for the right one. tel 01254 676591 (eves) Posted by tf1695 20/09/2012 15:58:03

Hi Andrew, I note your advert in the Bulletin. I am in Australia and not in the market for purchase, but if convenient, can you advise the BMC model the gerbox came out of. Many Thanks, Phil Posted by pdadd 19/06/2013 11:18:03

Hello Phil,  This gearbox is a variation of the austin healey one. This type of gearbox was the original fitment offered by Alvis for the series 1  TD21 of 1958 - 1961 and the TD21 series 11 of 1961 - 1963 although the ZF 5 speed was also an option on the later cars. My gearbox is an original Alvis one and fits straight in with no modifications. It is still for sale at a giveaway £900.00 delivered.  tel. 01254 676591  Regards, Andrew Posted by tf1695 19/06/2013 14:21:05
