Wire Wheel Removal

Still stuck? Possible that  the nut ,(spinner), was done up on a newly painted wheel and/or someone has applied lashings of Loctite to the threads or a mixture of both, in which case the BIG copper hammer will need to be   assisted by a blow lamp on the nut and lots of heat, the result will not be pretty but should work.If that fails sacrifice the nut using an angle grinder.Might be worth checking the other wheel  will nuts come undone in case you have puncture. Here's another suggestion... I've never tried it, but park the car so that one of the ears of the spinner is pointing horizontal or slightly downhill, then put a hydraulic jack under the ear of the spinner and pump it up... It should either lift the car, or undo the spinner! Also make sure the handbrake is well on, or the Memsahib is pushing hard on the brakes. It may take a bit of experimenting to get the right angle and a good purchase on the spinner, but it may be worth a try!  Good luck and be careful!!! Posted by IanHardaker 22/09/2018 01:14:39
