Was an oil filter originally fitted to the TC21/108g and early TD? Posted by rcouldwell 25/11/2016 17:18:04

Robert,  If my memory serves me correctly the filter commenced with the TD.   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 26/11/2016 09:11:26

Robert,   I fitted a bypass filter to my TA21. Not as good as a full flow but better than nothing. There is an article ( I wrote) on the subject in The Bulletin No 555 from Sept/Oct last year   Richard, Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 30/11/2016 09:21:56

Robert/Richard,  Happened to be re-reading  D.Culshaw's  book,"Alvis 3litre in detail",  p72,states that the first 25 TD21s used engines left over from unbuilt TC108Gs , to me, this implies no external oil filter until chassis 25971, assuming crankcase  part no. C6691 was used.  Season's Greetings to all Peter Posted by Peter Martin 06/12/2016 11:10:41

I have just ordered a spin-on conversion from Flexolite, this will allow the fitting of a modern filter with an anti-drainback valve. Posted by dominic taylor-lane 21/08/2017 19:55:58
