| Wed 7th | South West: Harvey Memorial Day at St Keverne, The Lizard We meet at the White Hart, St Keverne 10.30 for coffee, and at 11.30 assemble at the Harvey Memorial. Then we pay our respects to Major Cyril Harvey, the Alvis racing driver who won the Brooklands 200 mile race in 1923 in a 12/50 with average speed of 93mph. !! | Fri 9th - Sun 11th | Northern: Pickering 40s weekend Pickering Town Centre and “Back to the 40s” at Eden Camp, Malton Two separate but linked events celebrating all things 40s. In Pickering Town Centre you will find a tribute to civilian life in World War Two with displays of military vehicles, vintage cars, exhibitions, live music and on the Saturday, there will be a shuttle bus linking Pickering with events at Eden Camp. Philip Newbold is co-ordinating the opportunity for you join in with what’s happening in Pickering but post 1950 cars are unlikely to be accepted as part of the display. | Sat 13th | South West: Winter Lunch All AOC members and friends are warmly invited to join us for our Winter Lunch at The Carpenters Arms at Stanton Wick, North Somerset BS39 4BX. We are returning by popular request to this lovely country pub located in the beautiful Chew Valley. We have been allocated our own area in The Log Room where we can enjoy excellent food including a number of vegetarian options. This is a most popular pub so there could be a limit to numbers so please commit as soon as possible. Arrive after 12, serving at 1pm. | Sun 14th | East Anglia: Technical Day By kind invitation of Jack Clover we will be holding our annual Technical Day at Jack’s home. The meeting will start at 10.00am and will be held at The Old Rectory, Norwich Road. Woodton, near Bungay. NR35 2LP. There is plenty of parking space on site. The provisional itinerary is for a meet and greet from 10.00am with coffee/tea and biscuits followed by a talk on a relevant subject relating to our cars interspersed with a brief history of The Old Rectory. We will break for a roast lunch at the local pub or you can bring your own food and heat it up in Jack’s kitchen. Afterwards we can look around the garages and workshops including the cars, bikes, homemade tractor and a small museum. The day will end around 4.00pm with parting tea and cake. Look out for further announcements in the Calendar and by EA Section WebCollect emails containing more specific details about the day.
