      The Alvis Owner Club Limited (“AOC”) takes your privacy very seriously and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy sets out the way in which any personal information you provide to us is used and kept secure. It applies whenever we collect your personal data (including when you use our website or other digital platforms), so please read it carefully.

        The AOC is the one and only official worldwide club for everyone interested in the iconic Alvis marque.

        The AOC is a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 04034465.

        The AOC’s guiding principles are the preservation of Alvis pre and post war motor vehicles and encourage Members and Enthusiasts alike, to share their passion for the Alvis marque. Membership is open to all Alvis owners and enthusiasts.

        3. Information we collect and what we use it for

          All personal information that we collect about you will be recorded, used, and protected by us in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and this Privacy Policy. We may supplement the information that you provide with other information that we obtain from our dealings with you or which we receive from other organisations, for example, our sponsors and partners.

          In broad terms, we use your data for the following purposes:

          - to administer and provide products and services you request or have expressed an interest in
          - to enable us to promote and administer AOC events and AOC merchandise
          - to communicate with you in the event that any AOC event become unavailable
          - for record keeping purposes
          - to carry out market research so that we can improve the products and services we offer
          - to create an individual profile for you so that we can understand and respect your preferences
          - to personalise and/ tailor any communications that we may send you
          - for profiling purposes to enable us to personalise and/or tailor any AOC marketing communications that you may consent to receive from us.

        4. Disclosure of your information

          In order to provide our products and services to you, we may need to appoint other organisations to carry out some of the data processing activities on our behalf. These may include, for example, payment processing organisations that may conduct organisation of Club events on behalf of the AOC.

          We may share your data with third parties:

          (b) if it is necessary to do so to enforce our terms of use, or other contractual rights,
          (c) to lawfully assist the police or security services with the prevention and detection of crime or terrorist activity,

          Some of the organisations to which we may disclose your personal information are situated outside of the United Kingdom and European Union in countries which may not have laws that protect privacy rights as extensively as in the United Kingdom. If we do transfer your personal information to other territories, we will take proper steps to ensure that your information is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

          In all instances where we disclose your information to third parties, we will ensure that your information is appropriately protected.

        5. Security of information

          We take the security of your personal information seriously. When you submit your credit card details to us, we use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to guard your information. In addition, we have security procedures in place to protect our paper based systems and computerised databases from loss and misuse, and only allow access to them when it is absolutely necessary to do so, and then under strict guidelines as to what use may be made of the personal information contained within them.

          Where a password is required to access certain areas of our digital platforms, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and confidential. Please do not share or disclose your password to any other person.

        6. Social Media

          We may use third party provided tools such as Hootsuite to manage our social media interactions. If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message may be stored by their platforms. Like other personal data, these direct messages will not be shared with any other organisations.

          You may correct or update your personal information at any time by emailing us at: membership@alvisoc.org Please include your AOC membership number, name, address, date of birth and email address when you contact us as this helps us to ensure that we accept amendments only from the correct person. We encourage you to promptly update your personal information if it changes.

          We will securely retain your information for as long as is reasonably necessary and in accordance with applicable law. If you wish to submit a request that your data be deleted, please write to us at the address above (section 1.2.2). You have the right to receive a copy of the personal information that we hold about you. Please write to us at the address above (section 1.2.2) if you wish to exercise this right. If you have subscribed to receive marketing communications, you can unsubscribe at any time or by sending a request to the Membership Secretary.

        8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

          We aim to meet high standards and so our policies and procedures are reviewed accordingly. From time to time we may change this privacy policy. Accordingly we recommend that you check this page periodically in order to review the latest version.

      The Terms of Use apply to the entire contents of the website under the domain names alvisoc.org and heritage.alvisoc.org (the “AOC Websites”) and to any email correspondence between us and you. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. By continuing to use an AOC website you confirm that you accept the Terms of Use. If you do not accept the Terms of Use, you must leave the Website immediately.

    1. Shop Terms and Conditions

      By placing an order for goods with us you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions. A contract between you, the customer and the AOC, for the sale of goods will exist once an order has been submitted and your credit/debit card details accepted by PayPal.

      1. Dispatch Policy

        While every effort will be made to ensure that all items shown are available to order we offer no guarantee of availability and this electronic publication does not constitute an offer for sale. If we are unable to supply the goods, you will be notified as soon as possible after we receive your order, and you will be offered a full refund or an alternative. You will be sent confirmation of your order by email. It is your responsibility to notify us of any errors within 2 days of receipt of confirmation. It is your responsibility to advise us of non-receipt of the confirmation or your order. Deliveries within the United Kingdom are sent by 1st or 2nd Class Post and to all other destinations by Airmail. You can collect your order in person. Orders must be collected at the address shown below.

      2. Cancellation Policy

        You may cancel your order at any time prior to dispatch. However, please be aware that goods in stock may be packed and dispatched the same day, so please contact us immediately if you want to cancel your order

      3. Returns policy

        We accept there will be occasions when items need to be returned. If this is the case, goods must be returned within 14 days of receipt, unused and in the original packaging, with a brief explanation of why the goods are being returned. You will be required to pay and arrange carriage for the return of the goods. Where goods are being returned because they are faulty, your postage and packing will be refunded. We will only issue a refund / exchange on receipt of goods and strongly recommend you have proof of posting.

      4. Payment Policy

        We are happy to accept payment by credit or debit cards. We DO NOT accept American Express. International transactions are subject to the exchange rate on the date of transaction. The total cost of the order including VAT, postage and packaging charges will be charged to your account. Delivery to non-European countries may result in import duties payable on receipt of the goods. You will be liable for these duties.

      5. Description of Goods

        Whilst we try to ensure that the descriptions and images of all our products are correct, we cannot accept responsibility for variation in colour caused by the computer software used by you.

      6. Indemnity

        You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses (including legal fees), arising out of your use of this site.

      7. Jurisdiction

        The Contract will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties to the Contract submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

      8. Confidentiality

        All confidential information, including credit card details, are held securely and only transmitted in encrypted form. Customer details are not passed to third parties, but we reserve the right to pass on customer's contact numbers to parcel carriers in the event of delivery difficulties, unless specifically requested not to do so. We will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We do not store credit/debit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties. All customer details are used only in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

  1. Classified Advertising Terms

    1. Members can advertise on the AOC Website free of charge

    2. Non Members and traders can advertise at the flat rate of £12, inclusive of VAT, payable in advance.

    3. Adverts must relate to Alvis cars or related Alvis products

    4. Adverts for submission must include the advertisers Name, Address, Contact Telephone Number, Email address and whether this is a Private advert or Trade advert, along with the advert description. All contact details of advertisers will remain confidential and not included in the advert unless expressly agreed before publication of the advert.

    5. The Alvis Owner Club, the Calendar Editor or the Website Editor cannot accept any responsibility for statements made in advertisements
