This is a big thank you from everyone at Kop Hill Climb

Despite the worst weather we have had in many a year, we recorded the second highest attendance ever, helping us raise £80,000 for local charities.

That means that over nine years of growing popularity, thanks to the enthusiasm of all the spectators, entrants, volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors, together, we have now raised over £500,000 since the event began in 2009.

What a great way to enter our special 10th anniversary year.

2017 saw Kop Hill play host to an impressive array of cars and bikes to commemorate the original 1910 – 1925 races and to raise funds for local charitable causes.

So who stole the show? For many it was Genevieve, the star of the 1950’s film, and a regular participant in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, kindly brought to Kop Hill Climb by Quirina Louwman. For others it was seeing Edd China, formerly of Wheeler Dealers, and his Casual Lofa Sofa complete with pizza dish steering wheel and flowerpot indicators, whizz up the hill. The impressive array of Ferraris celebrating their 70th anniversary led by David Cottingham’s bellowing Le Mans Daytona would be also a candidate, or maybe it’s one of the Edwardian aero engine monsters or one of the many impressive historic motorbikes.

Plans for 2018

We have great plans to make 2018, the tenth anniversary of the revival of this historic event, something even more special. So mark your calendars and diaries with Kop Hill on 15th and 16th September 2018.

Although we will bring in new attractions in this anniversary year, we are intent on preserving its unique, relaxed Kop Hill Climb garden party atmosphere.

Our new website at will be launched in February with further details of our plans and we will start accepting hill bookings in March

Thanks again

So once again thank you all for making 2017 such a success. Part garden party, part village fete and part race weekend. There's nothing quite like the noise, the sights, the smells and the experience of a Kop Hill Climb weekend. We look forward to seeing you at Kop hill next year.

Finally, we wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

Bob Woodman

For Our part we could do with a few more volunteers to man the tent and park on the stand in the Paddock where the parking ticket will give you, 2 non competetive runs up the hill, twice a day am and pm. Please contact or Jim.
