NORTHERN: Vintage by the sea - The Midland Hotel, Marine Rd, Morecambe, Lancashire LA4 4BU. A celebration of all things Vintage: cars, live music, fashion etc. As voted the best vintage event in the world by the Guardian Newspaper. The fantastic setting of Morecambe’s seafront provides the backdrop that transforms into a multi-venue playground where, visitors can learn the dances, take in specially curated live performances, ogle over vintage vehicles or take advantage of the decade’s specific hair and beauty makeovers. SOUTH EAST: Hinton Arms Annual Vintage Vehicle Meet Hinton Arms, Hinton Ampner, Nr Alresford, Hampshire, SO24 0NH This popular event is open from 10.00am to 4.00pm and it is possible to arrive and depart at any time. Music, a bar, hog roast and BBQ will be on offer during the day.
Thursday 6th September
EAST ANGLIA: South Suffolk Heritage Run, meet at Flatford Mill (NT), East Bergholt, Suffolk. Starting with the John Constable guided tour (cost £3.50 per person) at 10.30 followed by run to Orford where there is a guided tour planned for 2.30. If not members then normal NT and EH entrance fees apply. Flatford has café facilities for coffee/ light lunch or picnic on route. NB: This event was originally planned for the 16th.
Sunday 9th September
MIDLAND and NORTHERN: - Hartington Show, near Buxton, Derbyshire - High Fields, Hall Bank, Hartington. SK17 0AT. An opportunity for a joint meeting between Midland and Northern Alvis enthusiasts, arrive from 9.30am. A great country show. Vintage Tractors, Stationary Engines, Vintage Lorries, Cars & Steam Engines.
Wednesday 12th to Wednesday 19th September
SCOTTISH: A 7-day tour of Ireland has been planned for us by the Irish Tourism Group. In outline it is Cairnryan ferry to Belfast, Dublin, Dungarvan, Killarney – 2 nights, Galway – 2 nights, Dublin, Belfast – ferry. Roughly 150 miles per day, total 1100 miles.

MIDLAND, SOUTH WEST and WALES: AOC Members 4th Tri-section Lunch. Midlands, South West and Wales cordially invite you to join us at this 4th combined 3 Section Informal Lunch Gathering. By popular demand, we are returning to The Anchor Inn, Church Road, Oldbury-on-Severn, Bristol, BS35 1QA www.anchorinnoldbury.co.uk to meet at 12 noon onwards. This Inn was our first host for a Tri-Section Lunch. This quaint stone built Inn is situated in a very pretty South Gloucestershire village nestling on the original banks of the River Severn. It has a long history dating back to the Iron Age and Roman periods. There is a delightful and substantial outside seating area and gardens. Our hosts are Mark and his son James, the Chef. This is a wonderful and relaxed opportunity to make new Alvis friends or to meet up with existing ones. Everybody is welcome, with or without an Alvis. Confirmation of attendance will be appreciated as soon as possible to enable us to advise the venue of expected numbers in advance, and limited capacity may be an issue.

SOUTH EAST: South East Alvis Day 2018 at The Amberley Museum in the town of Amberley, West Sussex.
NOTE THE EVENT IS ON SATURDAY NOT SUNDAY
The Museum offers something for everybody. Dedicated to the industrial heritage of the South East, Amberley charts the history of local industries and crafts in West Sussex. A diverse collection of exhibits, including a narrow-gauge railway, an amazing bus museum, and other presentations including Connected Earth, Telecommunications Hall, Milne Electricity Hall and a Printing Workshop, ensure there is plenty to see and absorb. Most of all is the fact that Amberley was a huge lime quarry and the museum is built on that past history.
Sunday 9th September – as part of Heritage Weekend, Pakenham Water Mill will be open and include attractions.
Sunday 9th September Wooburn & Bournend Village Show, Wooburn Park, Wooburn, Bucks HP10 0PS from 1 - 4pm. Along with the brass band, food, local brewery, horticulture show, games, dog show etc, we hope to have a good display of classic cars. You are very welcome to attend, and if you dress to match your car that will be a bonus.

Sunday 23rd September – Warren Classic Car Show
Sunday 30th September – Reepham Classic Car Show, Reepham, Norfolk Meet at Reepham Market Square between 11.00am - 4.00pm, up to 120 classic cars are expected to arrive an hour beforehand to be shown to their allocated spaces as the Square is closed to traffic. This year's theme is American car and bike marques. This is a free public event and due to its popularity entry for the classic cars is by ticket only. This year I have again been asked to assemble up to 6 Alvis for the show so contact me if you wish to attend. Should anyone require lunch there are two excellent venues in the Market Square. SOUTH WEST: CASTLE COMBE AUTUMN CLASSIC: The AOC has a stand again this year for 6 cars, but there is plenty of additional circuit-side parking for the 'right' vehicles anyway. For 2018 'Combe' is celebrating 50 years of the Ford GT40 & 65 years since Stirling Moss last competed at the circuit. The usual sun-rise to sun-set day packed with track action, paddock access, hundreds of cars in the 'classics only' car parks and Club Avenue. New for 2018 a trade village. Restaurant, bar, snack-shacks on site. There is no seating around the circuit though, just leaning posts, so bring a camping chair if you want to rest the pins during the day. SOUTH WEST: "Remembering Maurice Harvey" Meet 1030am. for coffee at The White Hart Inn, St Keverne, TR12 6ND. At 11.30am. we pay our respects at the Harvey Memorial, 12 noon, return to pub for lunch, then at 2pm, join the Alvis Group drive down to the cove to view the ocean, then have tea or an ice-cream at Roskilley’s.
Friday 12th and Sunday 14th October
NORTHERN: North Yorkshire England at War Weekend Every October, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway recaptures the spirit of the Second World War for a whole weekend. It is an annual tribute to the men and women who kept Britain's railways running throughout the war. The weekend begins with the ceremonial flag raising on Friday, and continues until it is lowered again on Sunday afternoon. Hundreds of skilled re-enactors help create the authentic atmosphere that has earned it an international reputation for authenticity. Accommodation will be available at Gisborough Hall (further details to follow) and the cars will be parked at Grosmont Station, the RAF base.

SOUTH EAST: Mayfair Meeting at the Coach and Horses, Bruton Street, Mayfair, London W1J 6PT.The Club’s now traditional International gathering before Christmas for an all section Noggin and Natter. Christmas lights will be on and the new shows will be running so make a weekend of it.
