The Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance. Today the 25th May 2021 Campaigners have set up The Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance trade group to fight for workers including engineers, specialist restores, dealers and parts suppliers.

At the invitation of Steve Wilson and his team at Fisher Restoration about 24 Alvises with nearly 50 members attended a ‘Pop up’ event at Chateau Impney on Saturday 22nd May 2021.

On 21st May, several hardy members of the East Anglia section braved the winter like elements to attend Sue and David Little’s inaugural ramble initiative.

On the 13 May 2021 eleven members of the EA Section met for the regular noggin and natter at the Horse and Groom, Cornish Hall End, Essex organised by Steve Horne. The weather decided to ignore the dry forecast and instead provided a steady drizzle all evening, the rain becoming heavier as the night wore on.

SE AOC decided to hold its first outside Noggin & Natter of 2021. A number of hardy Ladies and Fellows converged on the Jolly Tanners, Staplefield, West Sussex in what can only be described as a wet, winters day in 'Late Spring'!

Kersey Mill has become a popular regular meeting point for Drive it Day and with the cancellation of last year’s event this year saw a spectacular turn out of some very interesting historic vehicles including a traction engine, fire engine, Green Goddess Auxiliary fire engine, jeeps, Fergusson tractors, some commercial vehicles and a gathering of old police vehicles.

A great collection of Alvis cars was present at the Drive-it-Day event at Chiddingstone Castle, Kent. The event was limited to 60 cars, and was fully booked.

Our esteemed President Frank Kay and his lady wife Joan, arranged for a non-driving, Drive it Day within the government regulations and even from a legal and efficient social distance, the pleasure in experiencing a gathering after such a long time was palpable.

National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads.

A cold sunny day saw a few stalwart SE Section AOC members get their Alvis' out for a good run, blow away the cobwebs and meet up for a socially acceptable outside get together at Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking in Surrey.
