On 28th April, the AOC had great pleasure in supporting Bicester Heritage with the All Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group annual rally.
This cross party group whose declared purpose is to, "To encourage interest in, and the promotion and use of, vintage, historic and classic vehicles." consists of 10 Conservative, 9 Labour and 1 SNP Westminster MPs.
Bicester Heritage is establishing itself as the UK centre of excellence for historic motoring and aviation.
Using the preserved ex-RAF pre-WW2 bomber base as their location the buildings of the airfield’s technical site now hosts a growing range of workshops. These well designed functional facilities are ideally suited to the support of Heritage vehicles.
Bicester hosted a range of groups to meet the MPs, before an organised run took them from Bicester to Westminster by an array of classic cars, including Karl Carter in his TA21.
As well as an opportunity to engage in a 2 way conversation with MPs on the subject of classic vehicle ownership, the meeting provided a good networking event to talk to other organisations in the field. These ranging from, other club officials through to members of the press and Industry training bodies.
Karl Carter’s TA21 waits to carry members of the All Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group annual rally to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
Seen in the light brown jacket, 12/50 owner, AOC member and Bicester Heritage MD Dan Geoghegan leads the party on a tour of the facilities being developed at Bicester.
